The selected young curators from across Czechia, always in the age of the target group, watch all the pre-selected films by KRUTÓN's curators together in our cinema, Kino Kavalírka, in Prague. They discuss every film and its potential and, in the end, they decide which short films will be part of the programme aimed at their peers. Curators from the older age groups who are particularly active also have the chance to participate in the process of creating the study guides for teachers and students, and to introduce and co-lead the discussion of the programme for other students before the screening.
This year, our amazing curators created 4 different programmes for age groups 4+, 9+, 12+, 15+, featuring beautiful and important short films for young audiences from all corners of the world. The selected films appeared at festivals such as Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, Berlinale, Clermont-Ferrand, and other festivals. The selection also highlights contemporary Czech cinema for young audiences.
