Young & Short 2022 (12–14 years)

original title: Thea & Tuva

directed by: Kristian B. Walters

year: 2020

duration: 23 minutes

country: Norway

Fourteen-year-old Thea and two years younger Tuva have to manage on their own the whole day, as their parents are sleeping off a stormy party and their mother is quite aggressively letting them know that they really can't stay at home now. What now? The streets of the town and the local shopping mall are the area where they hang out, not for the first or last time. This time they "accidentally" meet five-year-old Sophie, who joins them without the knowledge of her own mother, preoccupied with a sudden encounter with an acquaintance... Friendship? Rather, the game of controlling someone is the motivation for their journey and "fun" together. But what of Sophie when night falls? What could happen? Don't assume the worst...

The film was nominated for the Young Nordics Award at the Nordisk Panorama Film Festival 2021.
