Where's the Truth?

Film and Sociology

original title: Kde je pravda?

directed by: Pavel Koutecký

year: 1999

duration: 57 minutes

country: Czechia

Double confiscation and triple totalitarianism line the lives of two Czech Jews who found a new home in Chile during World War II. For one, Pinochet is a dictator, for the other a liberator of the country. The capitalist and the communist find themselves in a fictional dispute over the true image of totalitarianism. But this lies above the historical experience of the individual, in the joint preparation of the Chilean production of the opera "Brundibár". Two life stories that mirror the story of the 20th century.
